Happy new Year

The period up to the new year has seen the Snow at last go
and tempertures returning to normal but Damp foggy and
low cloud most of the Time.
Airfield Movements continued right up to close at 1930
on 31st with MLM 011 9K-AFM Last movement.

Farnborough at Christmas


Not a lot one can say about the decorations in the town Or
Events . Santa in Kingsmead and today 18th they had a
band singing and several charity stalls.

Princesmead had the best Display over the Cafe area

18/12/2010 winter comes to Farnborough


Not a lot has been happening in the Farnborough area
last few weeks other than periods of Snow and cold
snaps.
Aviation the final weeks of HARRIER was marked by
a flypast by 4 aircraft

Saturday morning 18th Heavy snow all day and
Airfield was closed and local roads really bad
but shops managed to stay open .

Harrier At Farnborough 15/11/2010

Rather A sad day at farnborough with the arrival from RAF
Cottismore ZG479 Harrier No 1 sqn RAF . This was to say
goodby to the Harrier Design Team at BAE-SYS Farnborough
as the Harrier is to be withdrawn from Service completly
COT1 callsign Arrived at 1009 doing a couple of circuits
and Vertical landing . Departed For Home at 1530 .

28/10/2100 Military at Farnborough

Making a rare appearance on the 26th at Farnborough Airport
from it base In Germay was C9B Skytrain 160051 of the
United States Navy . click picture taken by a forum member
on a very Damp Murky Farnborough Afternoon .
departed for Home at 0815 this morning 28th.

In recent days a B737 Of the Royal Thai Airforce has been
seen here at Farnborough HS-CMV Its civil registration

26/10/2010 Cup replay

The FA Cup replay at Dover was a complete disaster for
Farnborough loosing 5-0 . Farnborough were 4-0 down
by Halftime . The Winners travel To Kent side Gillingham
in the FACUP 1st Round Proper.

FA-Cup . 2nd Qualifying Round .

Farnborough beat Hamble 2-0 with a goal in Each Half from
Bradley Bubb . An good match was enjoyed by 500 People
at Cherrywood road Stadium.

As always at this time very little going on in Farnborough
Movements at the Airfield has also Slackened.

Farnborough FC V Lewes.

Farnborough won the match 1 -o by a goal scored in the
first Half. A Rather Scappy game and a poor performance
by the Referee. A crowd of over 800 Saw the game .

The match was attended by the Ambassador for Nepal shown exchanging gifts
with the Farnborough Directors. Napal FC Play Farnborough tomorrow

Update on Sainsburys 16/09/2010

The Cafe remains closed but work to restore it looks to be under way
all those injured have been released from Hospital . Health and safety
Executive were looking into what caused the boiler to Explode.

Sainsburys Explosion 14September 2010

Seventeen people have been injured after a coffee machine exploded at the
Sainsbury's supermarket in the new building at Kingsmead today at 1225pm.
Fire police and Ambulance went to the scene after an industrial coffee maker
Exploded Reported as a Ruptured Pipe. Some casualtys were taken to
frimly park Hospital with Face and Arm injuries.
The Supermarket remained closed untill mid Afternoon .the Cafe will be closed
untill furth notice to allow Health and Safety officers to conduct an Inquiry.

Farnborough Station

After Months of Delays , parking problems the 1st Phase in the
rebuilding of Farnborough Main Station Has been completed
With better facilitys for Passengers . Buses now Serve the
Station from the town center I think this is the first Time we
have had Buses serving the Station from the town although
Works coaches and a few other services have used it ,
Phase Two is the new Passenger Bridge with Lifts so that
Disabled Passengers can use the london platform instead
of going to FLEET or BROOKWOOD . Work is expected to
be complete by September 2011

Entry to the Museum and Exhibition is Free . Very limited carparking.
Nearest bus from Farnborough Station is The Number 1 get off by
the Collage and walk up the A235 Museum is by the SWAN Hotel

20/08/2010 Spotting at Farnborough

Farnborough spotting

The show buildings are being cleared very fast and the view from
Dairy gate A325 of the Ramp area Is once again available to
Spotters but please please take care when visiting there do not
Park or Enter the Hotel grounds at any time .Security are very
Hostile.

Eelmore bridge area Fleet road

This area is Favoured by local Spotters but carparking is very
limited . There is a litter problem there so please dont drop
Rubbish.

Fast Museum

Open at Weekends 1000 To 1600 And has very many exhibits
of Farnborough RAE Days , Some Ramp views and East apron
can be had . Car parking very Limited.

All other areas around the perimeter are really not suitable
for Spotters much is private property and you are advised
not to venture or park there.

20 August 2010 1940 70 years on

The 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain is being commemorated by
a reading of one of Churchill's most famous speeches and a fly-past.
Winston Churchill's "so much owed by so many to so few" speech will be
read at 1552 BST,precisely 70 years after he gave the address in Parliament.
The reading outside the Churchill War Rooms will be followed by a Spitfire
and Hurricane fly-past over Whitehall.

70th anniversary of Battle of Britain event Friday in which the Battle of Britain
memorial flight will take in overflights of all airfields involved.
the third flight of the day starts in Kent and heads across London
then heads south from Wycombe around 16 .15
